Instructor of Landscape Construction and Management

DESCRIPTION
Are you an energetic, dedicated, self-starter desiring an opportunity to share your extensive experience and knowledge in landscape design and construction through teaching and learning that impacts the lives of young men? Come join a select group of trade professionals at Williamson in their mission to prepare deserving young men for a future career in the trades. You will work in close partnership with the program director to teach and strengthen a broad curriculum that covers topics in Landscape Design and Construction, Plant Science, Turfgrass Science, Plant Health Care, Hardscaping, Arboriculture, Plant Materials and Equipment Operation & Safety. Theoretical classroom instruction is combined with substantial, applied, hands-on activities in which students work on a variety of campus landscape maintenance and construction projects using tools and machinery common to the trade. Instructional duties encompass: creating and delivering classroom lectures; developing and updating course curriculum, schedules, outlines and syllabi; creating and conducting timely assessments of student learning; using the College’s Learning Management System (Canvas LMS); and attending Williamson meetings and special activities. Lastly and critically, in accordance with the student Code of Conduct and Williamson’s core values, you will teach, mentor and guide student behavior to ensure their future professional success working in the trades.

QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in landscape construction or design, horticulture, or related discipline with at least ten years of progressively responsible trade experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Dynascape (or AutoCAD) Landscape Design Software proficiency desired, but not required.

COMPENSATION
Competitive salary based on educational and industry qualifications. The compensation package includes an excellent benefits package.

Williamson College of the Trades is an endowed, gift supported three-year, independent, post-secondary, vocational-technical college for economically qualified young men. The College, founded over 130 years ago, is a community of 250+ students and 80 instructors, administrators, and support staff operating on a beautiful 220-acre campus near Media, PA.
