Williamson’s ‘Number One Sports Fan’ Honored

Glenn E. Stevick 4W0, the former Williamson painting instructor who died Oct. 5, 2007, was honored by having his soccer coach’s jacket framed and mounted on a wall in the Restall Sports Center in February. Stevick, who coached the alumni soccer team each year at Homecoming for many years, wore the jacket while coaching. Stevick, who with his wife Phyllis, attended a very large number Williamson sporting events, was know as “Williamson’s Number One Sports Fan.” The framed jacket was presented to Phyllis after she spoke at a special chapel on “My husband, a Willliamson Man,” sharing her experiences in life with a Williamson man.

In the photo, Phyllis Stevick (left) and Williamson athletic director Dale Plummer (right), hold Glenn Stevick’s framed coaching jacket in the Main Building lobby. It is now hanging in the Restall Sports Center.
