Delaware County is home to many families who are poor, homeless, unemployed or facing an unforeseen crisis. When children need a coat to wear in the cold days of winter, Operation Warm shines! Operation Warm is based in Kennett Square where the new coats are shipped from manufacturers, sorted, packed and sent out to Social Service agencies, churches and schools. Families in need register for coats and receive them through these agencies. The logistics of this effort are mind-blowing and impressive when you realize 80,000 coats will be provided to needy children this year! Riddle Memorial Hospital and the Glen Riddle Rotary Club have mobilized the entire community to provide coats for more than 12,000 needy children! To meet this goal, a total of $75,000 needs to be raised. The Williamson Free School will be helping to meet this goal with the support of faculty, staff, trustees, alumni and their families. Your dollars support this work when you sponsor a child. YOUR $15 donation will sponsor ONE CHILD! You don’t have to buy the coat, which would be closer to $50, plus you know it is helping a child in your community, as all the money raised in DELCO stays in DELCO. Please contact Michele Minicozzi in the Advancement Office to participate. 610-566-1776 (x229) or mminicozzi@williamson.edu
