Williamson Dedicates the Stephen Del Grande Study Area

On Saturday, October 27, Williamson Free School dedicated The Stephen A. Del Grande 9W2 Study Area, located in the Library in The Walter M. Strine Sr. 2W9 Learning Center.

On Homecoming, Mrs. Heather Del Grande honored her husband’s memory by making a gift to support the Group Study Area, which is an important addition of the Learning Center and the library.  Since September, use of this remarkable facility of has greatly enhanced the School’s academic curriculum in an effort to produce graduates who are ready to pursue successful careers much like Steve did fifteen years ago.

The dedication featured speeches by President Paul Reid, Heather Del Grande and Steve’s classmates of 9W2 Mike Boeckem and Brent Focht.  A plaque now hangs in the Study Area which reads, “May the character and values developed by Steve during his Williamson years resonate in future generations of students.”

Earlier this year, Steve lost a long battle with cancer leaving behind his loving wife, Heather and three young sons.  Steve has truly touched many lives at Williamson as a student, alumnus and friend and will now do so in perpetuity through the naming of the Study Area.
