A Letter from John Brown 8W5

When I started in Williamson’s Carpentry Program 25 years ago, I learned that the School was founded because of the generosity and commitment of one man – Isaiah V. Williamson.  Mr. Williamson’s vision – to provide a values-based education to deserving young men – has been the core of the Williamson education since 1888.  For more than a century, the School has not only perpetuated this vision, but, carried on the same spirit of philanthropy upon which it was founded.

As a graduate of The Williamson Free School, I feel compelled to express my gratitude through my support of the School through Annual Giving each year.  I credit Williamson with giving me the professional foundation I needed to establish a successful carpentry business, as well as the confidence and values to serve as a respected member of my community.

Williamson was established as a result of the selfless generosity of one man who saw the potential in “deserving young men” to achieve their personal and professional goals through an education in the trades.  The School continues to rely on contributions from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations which provide nearly 50% of the cost to “keep the doors open” each year -- giving other young men the same opportunities we were given.

I choose to give back through my support of Williamson’s Annual Giving Program.  Annual gifts, at any level, are critical to continuing Williamson’s time-tested mission of providing a free quality trade education to deserving young men.

I am now asking you to please take a moment to consider a gift to Williamson.  Use the reply card below to return your gift to Williamson in the envelope provided today.  Thank you, in advance, for your support.  I wish you and your family a joyous holiday season!

Sincerely,

John Brown 8W5
