Local SkillsUSA Competition Held on Campus

SkillsUSA local competitions were held in the Masonry and Carpentry Shops in December. All senior and junior masons are required to compete because the project counts as their final exam. Because the project is so complicated, only one freshman competed.

Going on to the SkillsUSA district competitions will be: Carpentry – Jesse Bolt 1W2, construction technology-carpentry; Masonry – Dan Hobbs 1W2, construction technology-masonry; Industrial Motor Controls – Jon Wood 1W4, machine tool technology; Job Skills Demonstration A – Tyler Rodkey 1W2, construction technology-masonry; Precision Machining Technology – Ben Greenawalt 1W2, machine tool technology; Technical Drafting – Thomas Bond 1W2, machine tool technology; and Welding – Tim Brammer 1W3, machine tool technology.

All first-place winners at districts will go on to compete at the state competition in Hershey in April.

Going directly to states will be the Automated Manufacturing Technology team of Justin Aurig, Vince DeVito, and Vince Rambo, all machine tool technology seniors.
