Horticulture Freshmen Help Tyler Arboretum

Horticulture freshmen under the leadership of Chuck Feld, horticulture instructor, have been working at Tyler Arboretum balling and burlaping trees.

The trees were deliberately planted close together for a special exhibit in 2008 in the Stopford Family Meadow Maze. With the exhibit ended and the trees growing larger, it was necessary to move them elsewhere in the arboretum.

Feld said the project gave the freshmen valuable experience in a realistic work environment.
