Wins by Norman Switzer, Zac Nickle, Jake Cabry, John Lang and Matt Hailey propelled the Mechanics to the stunning upset over Stevens. Williamson, wrestling without returning All-American Eric Powell and former starters Zach Gallagher and Joe Link knew it needed some pins in order to win and it got just that from Nickle and Cabry - with Cabry’s pin coming with less than a second left in his match! The win moves the Mechanics to 1-0 on the year. [close] |

The Mechanics won 3 out of the first 4 matches on the night but having to forfeit 3 weight classes doomed them as they fell to the #2 ranked team in the nation in the NJCAA. Zach Gallagher led the way with a 2nd period pin and Justin Adamek, Dan Koppenhaver and Matt Hailey all won via decision as Williamson managed to win 4 out of the 7 matches wrestled. [close] |
