Financial Information

All Williamson students attend on full scholarships covering tuition, room, board, and textbooks. However, students are expected to provide their own health insurance and to purchase certain items for personal use, such as tools, equipment, and some books needed at school and later in their careers. Students are required to provide an enrollment deposit (an entrance fee that will be returned to the student upon graduation, less any financial obligations, or, in the case of dismissal/withdrawal, if the student properly completes the School’s withdrawal procedure). Students must also pay certain fees for yearbook, breakage, and placement. Students should anticipate the following estimated initial and annual charges:

Entrance Fees: (Freshmen only)

Mattress & Bedspread - $140.00
Calculator - $20.00
Enrollment Deposit - $200.00

Total = $360.00

Annual Fees: (All Students)

Yearbook - $80.00
Breakage - $20.00

Total = $100.0

In addition, students must pay an annual Shop Fee for the purchase of essential personal tools, drafting and safety equipment, trade manuals, and other related materials.  Although Shop Fees vary from one program to another, for the 2007-08 school year, shop fees, regardless of program, may not exceed $612 per year or $1,225 for all three years (these amounts are subject to an annual increase of no more than $25).  Also, juniors and seniors who park on campus are assessed a $75/year parking fee.

(NOTE: The Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades has not applied for status as a Veterans Adminsitration Approved School. Consequently, students attending Williamson are not eligible for veterans/GI Bill benefits.)

Refund Policy

All fees paid by a Candidate will be fully refunded if requested within three days after signing an enrollment agreement and making an initial payment. A Candidate who requests cancellation more than three days after signing an enrollment agreement and making an initial payment, but prior to entering the School, will receive a refund of all fees.

A Candidate who has not visited the school prior to enrollment will have the opportunity to withdraw without penalty within three business days following either the first day of the School’s regularly scheduled orientation procedures or following a tour of the School facilities and inspection of equipment where training and services are provided. A Candidate who officially withdraws from the School after three business days following his first day of attending classes will not qualify for refunds of any fees.

The School makes all required refunds within sixty days of student withdrawal or termination.

Insurance and Health Requirements

Prior to Freshman Registration, students are required, at their own expense, to show proof of immunizations and to undergo a physical examination, a dental examination, and a drug screening. Participants in the School’s athletic program(s) must have a physical examination each year. Throughout their time at Williamson, all students are required to maintain medical insurance.
